John M. Kennedy, MD, FACC
John M. Kennedy, MD, FACC, is a board-certified cardiologist, author, researcher, and educator with more than 30 years of experience in cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Kennedy earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, completed graduate studies at Dartmouth, received his medical degree from Brown University, and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
His professional interests include cardiovascular disease, heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, arrhythmias, hypertension, and behavioral cardiology, with a particular focus on the relationship between emotional stress and cardiovascular health.
Dr. Kennedy is the author of The Heart Health Bible and The 15 Minute Heart Cure and the creator of B.R.E.A.T.H.E., a seven-step stress-reduction method designed to help individuals reduce emotional and physiologic stress. Building upon this work, he founded BREAVA, a physician-led digital stress-reduction platform designed to bring practical, science-based stress-management tools to individuals and organizations.
Dr. Kennedy has appeared on national television and media, including CNN, PBS, The Doctors, and other outlets, discussing cardiovascular health, stress, and preventive medicine.
He currently serves as Medical Director of Inpatient Cardiology at College Medical Center in Long Beach, California, where he also participates in resident education, cardiovascular teaching, clinical research, and simulation-based medical education.
